About the study
Explore Earth’s processes and future challenges in UiT’s Master’s in Geosciences. Study climate change, geohazards and natural resources through fieldwork, lab research and data analysis in northern Norway, Svalbard and beyond.
What will you learn?
The Master’s in Geosciences combines advanced theory with practical research in a chosen field, such as:
- Marine geosciences, structural geology, mineralogy, ore geology and environmental geology
- Sedimentology, Quaternary geosciences, petroleum geosciences, quantitative geosciences and geohazards
You will learn to investigate geological processes and solve complex problems using field observations, laboratory work, scientific literature and geoscientific data. Through an independent research project, you will develop skills in planning research, analysing and interpreting results, and communicating findings clearly. The programme prepares you to contribute to research, innovation and professional projects in geosciences.
