HOW TO APPLY: STEP BY STEP
Please review the steps before applying for admission
The following steps are for international applicants with basic education from outside the Nordic countries (Danemark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden). Nordic applicants and Residents in Norway have different application processes and deadlines, please see STEP 1 before applying for admission to UiT.
Deadline (all programmes)
1 December every year.
Deadline (Master in Fine Art)
1 March every year.
You are an International Applicant if you:
-
Do NOT have advanced Norwegian language proficiency (such as Bergentest or Norwegian for foreign students, Level 3) AND
-
Do NOT have a basic education (upper & middle school) from a Nordic country (Norway, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, Sweden or Danemark).

Checklist of required documentsAll applications must be submitted electronically on the Application Portal and within the specified deadline (23:59 Norwegian Standard Time). Incomplete applications will be refused regardless of academic qualifications.

Incomplete applications will be refused regardless of academic qualifications.
International applicants without Norwegian National Identification Number (Personnummer)
Choose institution: UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Log in to the Søknadsweb as International Applicant on the right side of the page, which will take you to the International Login and registration page. NEW APPLICANTS (FIRST-TIME USERS): click on "Register New International Applicant" to create a new profile. RETURNING STUDENTS/APPLICANTS: log in with the same email address (request new password if you forgot). NB If you have changed your e-mail address since the last time you applied, please do not register as a new user on Søknadsweb before you have contacted us (admission@hjelp.uit.no).
International applicants with Norwegian National Identification Number (Personnummer)
Choose institution: UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Choose "National Identifier and PIN" RETURNING STUDENTS/APPLICANTS: Enter your National ID and a 4 digit PIN-code. You do not have a PIN code? Click on "Send PIN code by email". NEW APPLICANTS (FIRST-TIME USERS): register new user
Application deadlines
All programmes: 1 December 2020, 23:59 Norwegian Time.
Master of Fine Art: 1 March 2021, 23:59 Norwegian Time.
Norwegian Language and Society for Foreign Studies: 1 December 2020, 23:59 Norwegian Time.

You have finished your application, what's next?
Checking your application status
You can change your applicationby adding or removing a document until the specified deadlines (23:59 Norwegian Standard Time). The status of your application will be "Under consideration" on the Application Web (Søknadsweb) until we have finished the admission process.
