Research stay at: “Melbourne School of Population and Global Health”

This stay, in the framework of my PhD project “Menopause and respiratory health: The role of sex hormones lifestyle factors and hormone therapy”, enabled me to not only work on unique data, but also gave me very detailed insight into advanced epidemiologic techniques, specifically unsupervised clustering, and transfer these skill to our local research environment in Bergen.

The highly specialized center of epidemiology in Melbourne made it possible to set up analysis and draft a paper about the respiratory health in relation to menopause, which will without doubt contribute to a more equal gender focus in research and is potentially relevant for every woman.

During this time I had the chance to collaborate with very experienced researchers, who not only granted me insight into their way of working and precious syntaxes, but also gave me very valuable tips on how to give papers a better structure, ask the right questions and eventually publish in a high impact journal.

Apart from the exciting professional part I also got the best opportunity to see an amazing country with incredibly friendly people and stunning nature.Thank you, EPINOR, for making this possible.
