Early bird fee: NOK 4300,- (Closes June 20)

Late bird fee: NOK 4700,- (June 21 - August 20)

PhD student fee: NOK 2900,- (Closes August 20)

All fees include: one reception, one gala dinner + transportation, two lunches and four coffee breaks.

It will be possible to bring companion(s) to the reception (NOK 600,-), the gala dinner + transportation (NOK 1200,-) and the two lunches (NOK 310,- each).

On 24 September, after the reception it is possible to book a northern lights tour from the two companies listed below. Both tours depart from UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Please bring sensible clothing and shoes. 

Hunting the Northern Lights with Glød Explorer

This tour is staged as a real hunt (like Discovery Channel’s, Chasing Tornadoes). We use the latest northern lights and weather forecast to optimise our chances of experiencing this celestial phenomenon. If the weather in the Alta is not optimal (too many clouds), we drive towards the fjords or the inland, until we find clear sky and the lights. This method gave us a 93 % hit rate last season.

On this tour, you will get a short presentation of what causes northern lights, their history and tales. You will learn how to find northern lights on this specific evening, and how to take photos of them. Experienced Northern Lights guides with photo competence will be at your service, helping you with camera settings etc. Photos (taken by the guides), hot chocolate and snacks are included.

Northern Lights Safari with Peskatun 

Join Pæskatun on a thrilling northern lights chase. First, we drive to the northern lights camp at Pæskatun high up in the mountainside with panoramic views to the northern lights, a 20 minutes’ drive from Alta. At the camp and under the northern lights we will show you a short film about how the northern lights occur and our unique northern  lights history in Alta, such as about Kristian Birkeland. We serve coffee and cakes. We help you to photograph the Northern Lights and we take pictures for you.
