Research published at two international conferences

A Cracow University of Technology delegation disseminated GEOSUMAT research during two international conferences in the USA and Italy.

The 6th International Conference on Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change, Philadelphia, USA

As part of the project: "Materials for circular economy - industrial waste based geopolymers composites with hybrid reinforcement", we participated at the 6th International Conference on Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change, which took place on August 21-22, 2023 in Philadelphia, USA. The conference was held Under the theme "Current Research on Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change," and covered various aspects of environmental science and climate change.

During the conference, the possibility of using waste from photovoltaic panels in the production of geopolymers and geopolymer composites using glass and plastic waste was presented. The presentation with the title “The use of recycled waste from photovoltaic panels in geopolymer concretes” was given by Ms. Patrycja Bazan, and the presented research results were carried out by the team: Patrycja Bazan, Kinga Pławecka and Michał Łach.

The 6th World Congress on Materials Science and Engineering, Rome, Italy

Materials Info 2023 is the premier event for professionals in the field of materials science and engineering, discussing the latest developments, research and innovations in the materials industry. As part of the 6th World Congress on Materials Science and Engineering, a poster titled “Effect of manganese and zinc addition on the properties of geopolymers”.

was presented. This year's event was held on September 18th and 19th, 2023 with the theme “Materials Innovation and Impact” in Rome, Italy. The Congress provides a platform for researchers, scientists, engineers, and industry specialists to share their knowledge and experience on a range of topics, including the synthesis, characterization and processing of materials, as well as their applications in various fields.

A poster presenting the results of research carried out as part of the GEOSUMAT project was presented and directly participated in the conference by Mrs. Patrycja Bazan. The poster was titled: "Effect of manganese and zinc addition on the properties of geopolymers" and its authors were: Patrycja Bazan, Kinga Pławecka and Michał Łach.

The conference was also attended by doctoral students from the Krakow University of Technology: Agnieszka Bąk and Joanna Marczyk.
