Project Description
BBI 2.0 is an initiative by UiT The Arctic University of Norway aimed at improving gender balance in computer science studies. With only 13% female students in its programs, the project seeks a better balance in Informatics by hosting events with diverse role models.
Project Goals:
- Reduce Dropout Rates – Specifically focusing on retaining female students during their first year.
- Improve Academic Performance – Provide tailored technical support through seminars addressing knowledge gaps in computer science fundamentals.
- Increase Student Satisfaction – Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment by highlighting diverse career paths in computer science and offering role models from both academia and industry.

- Cultural seminars to present diverse perspectives on informatics, helping students understand its broader impact on society.
- Role models from academia and industry to inspire students and foster inclusion.

Long-term Vision:
BBI 2.0 aims to create a more gender-balanced and inclusive learning environment, fostering a new generation of computer scientists who will innovate across various societal challenges, from sustainability to healthcare.
