Forskningsinteresser
Forskningsarbeidet mitt fokuserer primært på undersøkelser av sedimentasjonsprosesser og paleomiljø på glasierte kontinentalmarginer, basert på analyser av akustisk materiale og sedimentkjerner fra høye breddegrader, bl.a. fra fjorder på Svalbard, Nordøst-Grønland og Nord-Norge; kontinentalskråninger og dyphavet utenfor Nord-Norge, Vest-Spitsbergen, Polhavet, Alaskagulfen og Antarktis; samt fra Barentshavet. Arbeidet inkluderer bl.a. rekonstruksjon av aktiviteten av innlandsiser og isbreer i fortiden (fremrykk og tilbaketrekning av brefronter i havet; transport av materiale med isfjell og sjøis; rekonstruksjon av breaktivitet på land), undersøkelser av sedimentasjonsprosesser i isbreproximale og -distale miljø, skråningsstabilitet i fjorder og på kontinentalskråningen, samt undersøkelser av dyphavsturbiditter.
Undervisning
Min undervisningserfaring inkluderer forelesninger, såvel som ledelse av teoretiske og praktiske øvelser, samt marin-geologisk feltarbeid fra introduksjonskurs til kurs for PhD studenter og postdoktorer. Jeg har undervist ved Institutt for geovitenskap, UiT Norges arktiske universitet; Universitetssenteret på Svalbard (UNIS) og GEOTOP - Université du Québec à Montréal, Québec, Canada (GEOTOP). Jeg har innehatt roller som kursansvarlig, gjesteforeleser og kursassistent.
