About the course
Elective course for exchange students
- developing ensemble/chamber music skills on student’s principal instrument, with emphasis on musical interpretation and rehearsal technique
- studying new ensemble repertoire from periods and styles that are representative for the student’s principal instrument. If possible, some Nordic repertoire should be included. Own compositions can constitute part of the repertoire, if relevant.

Objectives of the course
By completing the course the student will attain the following learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding
- possess insight in and knowledge about relevant ensembles, their repertoire, styles and genres
Skills
- study new ensemble/chamber music repertoire independently and under guidance
- choose appropriate strategies for rehearsing and performing new repertoire in ensemble settings
General competence
- be a versatile ensemble musician with musical insight, a cooperative attitude and the ability to jointly realize an artistic intentions
possess awareness about responsibilities and other ethical aspects of being a performer in ensemble situations
Teaching methods
Tuition is given groups and consists primarily of rehearsals guided by a teacher. Students will participate in projects, ensemble activities and public concerts.
Independent study and rehearsal are central to this course, and it is expected that students take responsibility for organizing their work week and rehearsal sessions.
Language of instruction and examination

The schedules are normally finalized and published well in advance of the start of the semester, often a few weeks beforehand. This gives students the opportunity to organize their studies and prepare for upcoming activities.
It is recommended to check the schedule regularly, as changes may occur.
