En sandkasse er et sted hvor mennesker utforsker verden gjennom lek, fantasi og samarbeid. I akademia blir det et sted der nye idéer skapes på tvers av fagfelt (Maxwell & Benneworth, 2018).

ArcHum Sandbox functions as kick-off symposium for UiT's newly established Center for Arctic Humanities. The purpose is to make ongoing research projects visible as well as networking and collaboration across UiT.
The Center for Arctic Humanities (ArcHum) was officially opened by UiT’s rector Dag Rune Olsen December the 6th, 2023. The center was initiated by the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education (HSL), the Arctic University Museum of Norway and Academy of Fine Arts (UMAK), and the University Library (UB) to strengthen and develop humanities research at UiT.
Registration: It is possible to participate in the entire program or only parts of it. Those who are busy with teaching are most welcome to attend the dinner in the Sjampanjekantina from 6 pm and jazz music from Sápmi and mingling from 8 pm.

Poster exhibition: There is an opportunity to exhibit posters/roll-up and present your research and activities in research groups within arctic humanities on both days. Contact lilli.mittner@uit.no for more information.

A sandbox is a place where humans explore the world through play, imagination, and collaboration. In academia, it becomes a place where new ideas take shape across various disciplines (Maxwell & Benneworth, 2018).
The event will be in Norwegian and English.
