Open Day

Open Day has become an annual event where both invited speakers and the students affiliated with MSB present their work. The invited speakers are generally selected to cover an as broad audience as possible, but since the the research groups affiliated with MSB take turns in organizing the event, different topics are highlighted every year.

The 6th Open Day was held October 20th

Invited speakers were Aurora Martinez Department of Biomedicine, University of Bergen, Frédérique Le Roux, Station Biologique de Roscoff and Milton T. Stubbs, Institut für Biotechnologie, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg.

Inger Lindin from the Molecular Modelling Group was awarded the prize for the best poster: MAPKAP Kinase 5: Holology modeling and ligand docking.

The 5th Open Day was held October 15th

Invited speakers were Kisten Krause, Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries and Economics, University of Tromsø, Preben Morth, Centre for Molecular Medicine, Oslo, and Ian Mills, Centre for molecular Medicine, Oslo.

The fourth Open Day in the “PhD School in Molecular and Structural Biology” was arranged the 2nd of October at the MH-building.

The students in the PhD school presented their work, first by a brief presentation in the auditorium and then by posters in Lysgården. The poster prize winner this year was Satish Nandipati from The RNA & Transcriptome Research Group. Alexander Pflug and Amit Anand shared the second prize.

In addition, lectures were held by 5 invited guests.

Open Day 2008

The 3rd Open Day in the PhD school was arranged Friday 19th of September. The day was filled with lectures by three invited speakers and oral presentations of the posters by 28 of the students in the PhD school.

Peter Kyomuhendo was acclaimed as the poster prize winner this year.

Open Day 2007

Friday the 21th of September, the PhD-school in Molecular and Structural Biology arranged the second annual "Open Day".

The day was filled with poster presentations from our 25 PhD-students, lectures by Stefan Krauss from Rikshospitalet in Oslo, Ales Cvekl from Yeshiva University in New York, and Knut Martin Torgersen from the University of Oslo.
