Innovative Book on Environmental Law and Indigenous Participation Released by Palgrave Macmillan

The book "Building Bridges for Effective Environmental Participation: The Path of Law Co-Creation. The Chiquitano Multimodal Format for Disseminating the Escazú Agreement," (M. P. Poto and G. Parola co-editors) is now out, as part of the Human Rights Interventions series, Palgrave Macmillan, Springer Nature (open access).

This innovative work adopts a unique approach by integrating legal design, visual law, and indigenous participation to prioritize the voices and perspectives of the Chiquitano people from Mato Grosso, Brazil.

"Building Bridges for Effective Environmental Participation" is divided into two parts. The first builds on the strong methodological participatory approach developed by the ECOCARE team over the years, which includes legal design, indigenous methodology, and co-created research with researchers, students, and indigenous peoples. The second part features the interpretation of international environmental law, giving voice to the Chiquitano Indigenous People of Mato Grosso.
