Ann Mari Holsæter


Stillingsbeskrivelse

Ann Mari Holsæter er førsteamanuensis ved Insitutt for farmasi (IFA), og forskningsgruppen Drug Transport and Delivery (DTD).

Ann Mari Holsæter er Cand Pharm fra UiT i 1999 med doktorgrad (Dr.Scient) fra samme institusjon i 2004.

I tillegg til lang akademisk karrierer ved UiT Norges Arktiske Universitet, har Holsæter også erfaring fra jobb i industrien, og som tidligere ansatt ved både ProBio Neutraceuticals AS (2006-2008) og Biotec Pharmacon ASA (2008-2011). Her hadde hun ulike roller inne kvalitetsorganisasjonene, inkludert Kvalitetssjef og QP

Hennes nåværende jobb som førsteamanuensis innebærer en 50/50 fordeling mellom forskning og undervisning. I tillegg til emneansvar og undervisning på alle nivå av farmasiutdanningen, veileder hun fortløpende både Master- og PhD studenter.

    Forskningsinteresser

    Forskningen hennes har fokus på avanserte legemiddelformuleringer, og forbedring av legemiddelterapi gjennom forbedring av legemidlenes opptak, stabilitet og/eller spesifisitet, med reduserte bivirkninger og økt effekt av behandling som mål. Hun har særlig ekspertise og interesse for liposomer, nanofibre og hydrogeler, anvendt alene eller i kombinasjon. Disse formuleringen er i hennes tilfelle i hovedsak fremstilt for topikal (huden, og sårbehandling) og systemisk administrasjon (injeksjonsmedisin), og da gjerne med antimikrobiell, anti-cancer eller immunstimmulerende effekt som mål. 

    I forskningsgruppen har Ann Mari særlig ekspertise på teknologier som elektrospinning av nanofibre og bruk av "dual centrifugering" i fremstilling av nanopartikler, inkluderte liposomer.
