“Mankind within the concept of the Common Heritage of Mankind: A Critical Review”
Mazyar Ahmad is a PhD Candidate at the Norwegian Centre for the Law of the Sea (NCLOS).
The title of his thesis is “Mankind within the concept of the Common Heritage of Mankind: A Critical Review”. The project aims to broaden our understanding of the common heritage of mankind concept.
Discourses on environmental conservation, resource management, redistribution of benefit, climate change have prompted the international community to rethink commons from different vantage points. Mazyar’s project aims to make some contribution on the subject.
Mazyar worked as a merchant naval officer for about six years, before studying law. He holds an MPhil degree in international law, LLM degree in maritime law, LLB degree, and B.sc degree in nautical science. Before joining UiT, he taught law at Jindal Global University (JGU) and the Central University of Kashmir, India.
