TERRI SOUSTER

Stillingsbeskrivelse

Currently I am the project manager for iC3 (Centre for ice, carbon, climate and cryosphere) which is a centre of excellence funded by the Norwegian Research council https://site.uit.no/ic3/ and based at Geosciences, UiT, Tromsø. Previously I had been part of many research projects in both Antarctica and the Arctic.

My research interests are benthic ecology, physiology and biodiversity. I have spent the last 13 years working in the polar regions, Western Antarctic Peninsula (WAP) and the Barents Sea part of the Arctic. My research looks at the effect of climate change on benthic marine communities with respect to sea ice loss, sea temperature warming and blue carbon. Most recently I have been working on functional groups and blue carbon within benthic marine communities in the Barents Sea to try to better understand their role within ecosystem services and mitigation towards climate change. I join UIT as a Post Doctoral Researcher within the BarentsRisk program.
