Inger Torhild Gram


Stillingsbeskrivelse

Inger Torhild Gram er lege, og professor i forebyggende medisin og tilhører forskningsgruppa  Systemepidemiolgi. Gram forsker først og fremst på sammenhengen mellom røyking og kreft, for tidlig død, og fordeler av røykeslutt. Hun arbeider med dette i fem befolkningsstudier, (Tromsøundersøkelsen,  Kvinner og kreft,  Smoking and Cancer,UiT, den europeiske EPIC studien, den amerikanske Multietniske studien(MEC), og i flere globale samarbeidsprosjekt. Gram har arbeidet med tobakksforebygging og retningslinjer for røykfrihet siden 1990 tallet, lokalt på UiT, UNN, Tromsø Kommune og som medlem av Nasjonalt Råd for Tobakksforebygging. Gram arbeider også med endring av livsstil og forebygging av død fra kroniske sykdommer. Hun har formidlet forskningsresultater over hele verden til det vitenskapelige miljøet, gjennom foredrag på internasjonale konferanser, pressekonferanser, vitenskapelige publikasjoner og til helsemyndigheter, politikere og folk generelt i TV, radio og andre medier. Gram har vært fire år i forskningsrådet til  IARC ,[kreftforskningsbyrået til Verdens helseorganisasjon (WHO)].  Gram underviser på de fem første studieårene av profesjonsstudiet i medisin. Gram har en 20% stilling som professor ved Nasjonalt senter for e-helseforskning. Universitetssykehuset Nord Norge (UNN), Tromsø, WHO's samarbeidssenter for telemedisin.
