Mohamed M. Ezat

Stillingsbeskrivelse

I explore the connections between the cryosphere, ocean circulation, the carbon cycle, and climate dynamics in high-latitude regions in the past. My research combines field expeditions, laboratory experiments, geochemical and micropaleontological analyses, and data–model integration to uncover how polar regions are changing and what this means for the global climate.

I lead the Foraminiferal Culturing Laboratory and the PlasmaLab for Ice, Ocean, and (Paleo)Climate, and am involved in large international projects including the Starting Grant ARCLIM, the ERC Synergy Grant i2B, and the iC3 Centre of Excellence.

My work has been featured in top scientific journals and international media such as PBS TV, The New York Times, National Geographic, and Radio Canada.

I lead a collaborative, interdisciplinary research group at UiT and welcome inquiries from prospective students, postdocs, and collaborators interested in joining our efforts to advance polar climate science.
