About the course
This course is not available as a single course.
The project must be approved by the department board. An application for approval must be handed in by September 1st/February 1st in the semester the project is to be carried out.
The aim of the course is to introduce the student to research activity within the field of geosciences. A certain amount of independent work is required. The course may consist of literature studies and/or practical/experimental work. The content of the project will be decided in discussion with the project supervisor, who will be a member of staff from the relevant research field.
The report can not be a part of the Master thesis - it must have an independent and unrelated theme.

The schedules are normally finalized and published well in advance of the start of the semester, often a few weeks beforehand. This gives students the opportunity to organize their studies and prepare for upcoming activities.
It is recommended to check the schedule regularly, as changes may occur.

The project should be started as early in the semester as possible.
The report must be handed in through Wiseflow.
The deadline is normally June 1 for the spring semester and December 15th for the fall semester.
