Our research interests lie at the intersection of coordination chemistry and nanoscience, especially as applied to medicine and renewable energy.

Current projects in our laboratory focus on:
- materials for photodynamic and related therapies and cancer theranostics
- high- and low-valent transition metal compounds and their applications to catalysis and renewable energy
- 2D van der Waals and covalent heterostructures with applications to nanomedicine
- fluorinated and fluorous materials
- dye-sensitized solar cells, and
- a variety of computer simulations
