TFS Starting Grant call 2026 is open
The 7th call in the TFS Starting Grant Programme is out.
TFS's sister foundation in Bergen – Trond Mohn Research Foundation (TMF) – has decided to implement a separate UiT initiative to support high-quality research projects at UiT The Arctic University of Norway (UiT). TMF has invited TFS to prepare grant applications for projects with UiT as the host institution.
The aim is to support the recruitment of young national or international candidates with outstanding scientific results and potential to UiT in areas where UiT wants or needs to recruit. The program can also be used to retain strong candidates at UiT.
The call is open to all faculties at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
- The duration of the individual project can be up to 6 years
- Up to NOK 12 million can be applied for
- Contributions from TMF must be matched by resources from UiT at approximately the same level
- The application deadline is Friday 1 December 2025
