The 31th EU-US Transport Task Force Workshop will take place in Tromsø, Norway, 7–10 September 2027
Tromsø is located in Northern Norway, approximately 350 km north of the Arctic Circle. Despite its northern location, the city is readily accessible by air, with frequent domestic connections and international connections via Oslo and other European hubs. Tromsø Airport Langnes is approximately 5 km from the city centre.
Flying is by far the easiest way to reach Tromsø.
There are frequent direct flights from Oslo Airport (OSL) to Tromsø Airport Langnes (TOS). The flight takes approximately 1 hour 50 minutes. Tromsø also has direct flights from several other Norwegian cities, as well as selected European destinations.
Participants travelling from outside Norway will generally find convenient connections through Oslo Airport.
For current flight schedules and connections, please consult the airline or airport websites.

Several transport options are available:
Airport Express Bus
The Airport Express Bus connects the airport with Tromsø city centre and several hotels. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes and the buses have dedicated luggage space.
City bus
Local bus routes 24, 26, 40 and 42 serve the airport. Tickets can be purchased through the Svipper app or other available ticketing options. City buses have more limited luggage capacity than the Airport Express Bus.
Taxi
Taxis are available directly outside the arrivals terminal. The journey to central Tromsø normally takes around 10 minutes, depending on traffic and destination.
Please check current timetables and fares shortly before travelling, as these may change.
The workshop will be held at:
Radisson Blu Hotel Tromsø
Sjøgata 7
9008 Tromsø
Norway
The hotel is located in the centre of Tromsø, within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops and other city-centre facilities.
Tromsø city centre is compact and most hotels, restaurants and attractions are within walking distance.
Local buses provide convenient transport between the city centre, the airport and other parts of Tromsø. Current routes, timetables and ticket information are available through the local public transport system.
Taxis are also readily available.
For detailed information about public transport and travelling to and from the airport, see Visit Tromsø – Getting around.
Norway is part of the Schengen Area.

Official information about visa requirements and applications is available from the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI):
UDI – Visitor visas for Norway
If you require a visa, we strongly recommend starting the application process well in advance of the workshop. UDI states that visitor-visa requirements and procedures depend on the applicant's citizenship and circumstances.
Participants who require an official invitation letter for visa purposes may request one from the conference organizers.
Invitation letters will be issued after registration and payment of the registration fee. Please contact odd.erik.garcia@uit.no with your full name, affiliation, passport nationality and other required information.
Please note that an invitation letter does not guarantee that a visa will be granted.
Participants arriving in Norway through Oslo Airport should allow sufficient time for their onward connection to Tromsø.
Oslo Airport is Norway's main international gateway, and there are frequent flights between Oslo and Tromsø. The flight time is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes.
If your international flight and onward flight to Tromsø are booked separately, please allow adequate time between flights for baggage collection, security procedures and possible delays.
