Call for Applications – France Excellence Research Programme Norway 2026 - 2027
France Excellence Research Programme 2026 - 2027, a unique opportunity for Norwegian researchers and PhD students to conduct field research or access scientific equipment in France. This programme funds research stays from 2 weeks until 3 months in France for young, early career, senior researchers from Norwegian institutions.
The thematic priorities of the program are those connected to the strategic partnership between Norway and rance signed on 23rd June 2025.

Duration of stay
Minimum: 2 weeks Maximum: 12 weeks A mobility started in 2026 can be continued in 2027 if the time windows is to short to achieve the desired mobility in 2026 upon explicit request.
Grant amounts
Young Researchers: 1704€/month PhD students on short research visits (not registered in France) Postdoctoral researchers who completed their PhD less than 5 years before the start of the stay.
Senior Researchers: 2055€/month Researchers who completed their PhD more than 5 years before the start of the stay
Timeline
- A 2026 mobility:
This call for applications is open until September 6, 2026, at 23:59. The mobility will take place between October 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. Laureates will be announced on September 10, 2026.
- A 2027 mobility:
This call for applications is open until September 20, 2026, at 23:59. The mobility will take place between January 15, 2027, and December 15, 2027. Laureates will be announced on December 4, 2026.
