New aspects of inflammation/Travel grants

Av Ole K Greiner-Tollersrud, 24.06.2022 12:50

Inflammation contributes to a large number of diseases, as cancer, rheumatic , vascular, autoinflammatory/autoimmune, neurodegenerative, viral/bacterial diseases etc. including complex as well as many rare, monogenic diseases.  Our understanding of the molecular origin of these diseases, as well as robust biomarkers and therapies are incomplete.  We will focus on the lysosomes, including the processes of endocytosis, exocytosis and autophagy with emphasize on glycans, to open a new and previously neglected field of research.

Do you want to travel to interesting places in Europe for free and meet inspiring scientists of world class level, eager to share their knowledge and to collaborate?  Are you a Ph.D.-student, post.doc. or young researcher interesting in taking part of game-changer ideas about  the molecular mechanisms of inflammation, with focus on the myeloid cells of the peripheral, as well as the central nervous system?   And are you interested in making a difference in the understanding and therapy of autoinflammatory diseases, and actually take part in the development of medicine, showing the importance of basic science for the benefit of mankind?

If you say yes, please don’t hesitate to be in contact with me (ole.k.tollersrud@uit.no).  I am planning to arrange an international training school with the best of scientists as teachers in Milano next year.   I am taking part in two COST-projects funded by EU, https://innogly.eu/  and https://www.mye-infobank.eu/home.html and through these you can obtain travel grants.  Whether you are working in projects involving inflammation, macrophages, cancer, rheumatic diseases, neurological diseases, virus and bacterial infections etc.  you will have the opportunity to find new ideas and new collaborations.

Each week I will give an update of the development by short zoom-seminars.  More info soon:)
