The research group on Child Law at the Faculty of Law, UiT - The Arctic University of Norway, are pleased to announce that we are organizing and hosting the conference "Rethinking vulnerability within a children’s rights approach".
The Child law research group at the Law Faculty, UiT - the Arctic University of Norway is working on a project on Children’s Right to Health. This is a four-year project funded by the Norwegian Research Council. The main objective of our project is to develop our understanding of children’s rights. This conference focusing on the topic children and vulnerability theory is a part of the project.
In this conference we will rethink vulnerability theory within a children’s rights approach. The plan is to focus on vulnerability-theories and how these theories, can give an added value to the discussion on children’s right to health. We are studying the topic within a Nordic welfare-state perspective but would like to broaden our perspective to more international perspectives. We have decided to have a small conference, about 20-25 participants, so there could be time for presentations from all, as well as for discussions.
We are very pleased to inform you that Professor Ton Liefaard, Leiden, Professor Ursula Kilkelly, Cork, Professor Jonathan Herring, Oxford, Professor Laura Lundy, Belfast and Professor Daniel Stoecklin, Geneva all have accepted the invitation to give keynote speeches.
