The Levy research program is focused on the development and application of cutting-edge genomics techniques to study the role of metabolic reprogramming in the liver, with a particular emphasis on non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). We are employing a variety of techniques, including transcriptomics, epigenomics, and metabolomics, to study the metabolic changes that occur in non-parenchymal liver cells during the development of NASH. By characterizing the changes in gene expression, chromatin structure, and metabolite levels that occur in these cells, we hope to gain new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying this debilitating disease and develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
