Emneleder for “Scientific Writing and Publishing in Health Sciences” (HEL-8026). Emne i doktorgradsutdanning, gitt av Instituttet for samfunnsmedisin ved Det helsevitenskapelige fakultet. Veileder for PhD-stipendiater ved samme institutt. Tilhørte 2015-2024 forskningsgruppen Arctic Health Research. Jobbet blant annet med å utvikle PhD-utdanningen i Nordvest-Russland i samarbeid mellom UiT og Northern State Medical University i Arkhangelsk, Russland. Etter forskningsgruppens oppløsning, siden 2024 del av forskningsgruppen Global and Environmental Health.

    Forskningsinteresser

    Alexandras forskning spenner fra biomedisinske aspekter ved fremveksten av aterosklerose til et folkehelsevitenskapelig perspektiv med særlig fokus på befolkningsstudier for forebygging av hjerte- og karsykdommer. Siden 2008 har Alexandras forskning spesifikt fokusert på området global helse.

    Undervisning

    Alexandra har så langt veiledet 14 PhD-stipendiater for forsvar og mer enn 15 avhandlinger for master-, master- og bachelorgrader. Hun har lang erfaring med undervisning og forelesning både nasjonalt og internasjonalt.
