Jeg er tilknyttet IPSUM, forskningsgruppe i klinisk farmasi og farmakoepidemiologi. IPSUM står for “Identify and Prevent Suboptimal Use of Medication”, se IPSUM research group.
IPSUM fokuserer på å utvikle metoder og kunnskap som kan fremme riktig legemiddelbruk på individ- og samfunnsnivå. Gruppen har særlig fokus på følgende områder:
- Forskrivning og bruk av legemidler
- Legemiddelinformasjon til pasienter
- Tverrfaglig samarbeid om legemiddelbehandling
Min forskning omfatter farmakoepidemiologiske og statistiske analyser av befolkningsdata, f.eks. spørreundersøkelser og helseregistre, inkludert registerkobling. Informasjon fra spørreskjema, reseptuttak, kliniske undersøkelser/tester, blodverdier etc. brukes til å analysere sammenhenger mellom legemiddelbruk og relevante endepunkter. Mine to hovedfokus er 1) legemiddeletterlevelse generelt, gjennom analyser av data fra Tromsøundersøkelsen, og 2) hormonbruk i overgangsalderen gjennom analyser av data fra Kvinner og helse (NOWAC).
Jeg underviser på alle nivåer av farmasiutdanningen ved UiT, men også enkelte tema ved andre studieprogrammer på Helsefak. Min undervisning omfatter samfunnsfarmasi, nærmere bestemt farmakoepidemiologi, statistikk, enkelte tema relatert til farmasøytisk yrkespraksis, samt veiledning av masterstudenter og PhD-studenter innen fagfeltet.
