Application deadline

Applicants from countries within EU/EEA: June 1st for the autumn semester and December 1st for the spring semester. Exchange students and Fulbright students: 1 October for the spring semester and 15 April for the autumn semester.

Admission requirements

Admission to the Master program requires a relevant Bachelor’s degree in engineering (180 credits), or other relevant technological degree on Bachelor level. The bachelor’s degree must contain minimum 25 credits mathematics, 5 credits statistics and 7.5 credits in physics. Some of the courses in the bachelor program have a certain amount of statistics included and can be accepted.

Relevant field of study may be automation, process and gas technology, nautical science, mechanical, processing, safety, civil engineering. Other fields of study may be considered upon individual assessment.

Course content

Each student will, in co-operation with the supervisor, choose ond of a number of pre-defined syllabuses. The syllabus will be related til R&D issues within the area of technology and safety. The syllabus should be relevant to the specialization project.

Objectives of the course

The course will give a theoretical spesifization for the suppert of the specialization Project and the Master's Thesis.

Language of instruction and examination

Guidance will be given in the English language. Oral exam will be in the English language.

Teaching methods

The course is given as a guided self study where the students should read a given syllabus and discuss it with the supervisor.

Re-sit examination

Re-sit exam is granted to the students who have failed the last ordinary arranged exam.
