Environmental impact assessment and sustainability reporting (EIA)
About the course
May be taken as a singular course.
The course will introduce students to the important environmental problems from normal industrial activities, including air pollution, water pollution, solid waste production and management and radiation pollution. In addition, the course will introduce the important global environmental problems from human activity, including global climate change, acid deposition, emission of environmental toxicants, extraction of natural resources. The students will learn how to perform an environmental impact assessment before starting a new activity or project. The latest technologies in air pollution control, wastewater treatment and solid waste management will be introduced also.
Finally, students will learn management of the risks from human activities. The environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 14001 will be introduced. Regulations, rules and indicators in sustainability reporting will be introduced at last.

Group project assignmentRe-sit examination
Re-sit exam is granted to the students who have failed the last ordinary arranged exam and is granted only for the failed part of the examination.
Group project assignment:
Students having failed the group project assignment will be offered one opportunity to revise the project and submit it again in two weeks.
4 hours written exam:
A re-sit examination will be offered early in the following semester.
For a new regular exam attempt, it is not necessary to retake all parts of the exam.
