Reflections on the Representation of Emilia-Romagna in Video Games

Giulia Conti (University of Parma) gives a guest lecture on regional representations in video games.

I am happy to share my research on the representation of Emilia-Romagna, a region in Northern Italy where my university is located, in video games. The session will explore how the territory and regional culture are narrated, reinterpreted, and valued within games. Particular attention will be given to the historical perspective and local microhistory, such as the enduring importance of the anti-fascist resistance in the city of Parma.

Giulia Conti is a visiting scholar from the University of Parma. Her stay and lectures are coordinated by the ENCODE and CRAFT research groups.
