Åse Hiorth Lervik Prizes

The Centre for Women’s and Gender Research awards the Åse Hiorth Lervik Prizes for the best master's theses focusing on gender-related themes or gender theoretical perspectives achieved at UiT, the Arctic University of Norway. Established in 1996, these prizes honor Åse Hiorth Lervik, one of UiT's earliest female professors who played a pivotal role in advancing Women’s Research in Norwegian academia.

Each prize is valued at NOK 25,000 and is aimed at supporting the recipient’s professional development.

Nominations should be made by the candidates’ supervisors or other professionals, provided they are academically justified. Nominations must include a link to the thesis and a summary of up to two pages, including the grade received.

Please note that only candidates who completed their master’s exams in the previous year are eligible for nomination. Therefore, candidates for this year’s prizes must have passed their master’s exams in 2023.

The deadline for nominations is June 3rd each year. Nominations should be submitted to skk@skk.uit.no.

UiT recognizes that fostering a supportive study and work environment entails embracing diversity. We encourage nominations of qualified candidates, regardless of their gender, physical ability, or cultural background.
