UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Department of Technology and Safety, as part of the Nordforsk-funded project Climate Change Resilience in Small Communities in the Nordic Countries (CliCNord) organised its first case study one-day workshop in cooperation of regional and municipal actors on Friday 3 December 2021. Due to the worsening covid-19 the workshop was organized online as a zoom-meeting. The workshop participants included senior members of Ørsta Municipality and County of Møre and Romsdal.
The workshop concentrated on creating a plausible flash flood scenario for Ørsta Municipality, including the cascading effects (e.g., to critical infrastructure/vital societal functions). It was planned to pave way to further detailing and operationalizing the scenario in a second workshop in the Spring 2022. The final result is aimed at concretely contributing to the regional (County of Møre and Romsdal) Risk and Vulnerability (RoS) and municipal preparedness plans.
