There are two options in terms of gettng from the Tromsø airport to the city center. The first is taxi and the second is city bus. There is a taxi queue just outside the terminal. The local bus is the cheaper option. You can obtain information about the bus in the airport terminal. Buses 40 and 42 leave from the terminal to the city center every few minutes (depending on the time of day).
Getting to the university from the city center by bus is also quite easy. Buses 34 and 20 leave from various locations in the city center every few minutes (again, depending on the time of day). Just ask your hotel staff where the nearest bus stop is. The stop for the university is UiT-Planetariat. Click on this link to get information concerning the city Bus. You can pay by cash to the driver or buy tickets from the Wito shop in the city center or from various ticket machines around the city center. You can also use your smartphone to buy tickets.
Once you have arrived on campus, the room in which the conference will take place is SVHUM E-0101. You can click on this link for a map. Enter the SV-HUM building from the entrance on Hansine Hansens veg. The registration table will be in the main lobby on the ground floor, and the room where the conference will take place is on the same floor, all the way down the hall to the left. (The students working at the registration table can kindly point you in that direction if you arrive when the table is open.)
