Sonja will present her ongoing research project, Scales of Change, which explores the intricate interplay between environmental, cultural, and political dimensions in the European Arctic:
Scales of Change: Herring migration and fluctuating life in the Northern fjords
Sonja’s research addresses the unpredictable migration patterns of Norwegian spring-spawning herring, examining how these are culturally understood and politically governed. Her work sheds light on the fluctuating environmental relationships in the European Arctic and offers insights into resilience and changing multispecies relationalities in the Anthropocene.
