Everyone is welcome — whether you live here or are visiting, young or old, alone or with others, with or without a kofte (traditional Sámi dress).
At the museum you will find:

Open exhibitions, including Ravdnji – The Strong Current, about Sámi heritage in the Tromsø area

Davvi AS selling suovas (salted and smoked reindeer meat fried in butter) served in homemade bread with salad and lingonberry sour cream

6 PM: Mini concert with Tromsø Academic Women’s Choir

6.30 PM: Screening of the documentary Joikefeber (2014), in collaboration with Filmrommet.no
The documentary Joikefeber follows the young singer Ylva in Oslo, who longs to reconnect with her Sámi cultural heritage by learning to joik. As she becomes familiar with different joik traditions and Sámi artists such as Mari Boine and Johan Sara Jr., she discovers that joik is at risk of disappearing.

ADMISSION Adults NOK 130,- / senior citizens and students NOK 100,- / UiT-students, children and youth under 18 years have free entrance. The ticket provides access to the entire museum from 10 AM to 8 PM on the same day.
Do you visit the museum often? A Museum Pass (NOK 500) gives free admission for one year for you and one guest of your choice (you can bring a new guest for each visit, of you would like). The Museum Pass is valid for one year at the Arctic University Museum of Norway, the Polar Museum, and MS Polstjerna (open during the summer months).
