ECO-CRIM-NET: Network for the Investigation and Prosecution of Crimes Against Ecosystems

Description:

Both in peacetime and during armed conflict, environmental crimes have a hugely destructive impact on the environment. The establishment of criminal responsibility for these kinds of crimes presents significant challenges for national and international law enforcement agencies, largely due to the high complexity of these crimes, their connection with networks of transnational organised crime, and the new challenges to establish causalities and chains of evidence by new forms of forensics.

The aim of this conference is to bring together scholars and practitioners from different disciplines to gain new knowledge about the design and modus operandi of crimes against the environment and on how these crimes can be addressed by legal means with the support of new technologies.

The event is open for everyone to attend.
