There is now a rapid growth in investment and planning for a green transition to sustainable industry in the northern parts of Finland, Norway, and Sweden.

However, the region shares a number of challenges that will affect future development, such as shortcomings in the labor force and energy deficits.

At the same time, the northernmost part of Europe is gaining increasing strategic importance due to the geopolitical situation, with Finland's NATO membership, and the prospect of Sweden's membership in the near future. Security issues have in this way strengthened the mutual ties between countries in the Arctic region.

In this open session, it will be discussed how strong partnerships between countries and sectors can be established. Representatives from five Nordic universities that are members of the Arctic Five alliance will participate.
