UiT Data Stewards Network: "The 2020 Security Incident", with Roy Dragseth
All are welcome to participate in the first event of the semester organized by UiT's Data Stewards Network, on the topic of data security.
In the first half of the session, Roy Dragseth (Department of Information Technology, UiT) will give a lecture on the causes and consequences of the data breach that UiT faced in December 2020. In an era when the threat landscape is evolving quickly, he will also cover some practical data security tips for researchers.
To mark Hallowe’en, in the second half of the session we will present a selection of “data security horror stories”. We’ll discuss what went horribly wrong and – more importantly – how a data disaster could have been avoided.
