This will be an event where UiT students and other community members will have the opportunity to "meet" in an informal setting over coffee and waffles, to discuss how they encounter gender in their everyday lives and work. So get the kettle on and make those waffles!
*This will be a digital event, and you can find the Zoom link here*
Meeting ID: 929 0720 9633
Passcode: 5hcTPK
This event will be one of three discussions that are part of Gender Awareness Week 2021, kindly supported and funded by The Centre for Women's and Gender Research here at UiT (SKK).
"Kjønn" in Norwegian can mean 'sex' or 'gender' in English. However, in English these two terms mean very different things: Sex refers to biological differences, whilst gender refers to socially constructed differences. Though we may not always be thinking about it, gender is an important part of our daily lives, and is also present in our studies and research throughout our academic careers. This event is an opportunity to broaden your horizons and here from a diverse group of people how they encounter gender in their everyday lives and work.
The discussions will take place in English, but there will be an opportunity to ask questions and comment in Norwegian.
