"Part of speech ambiguity and Russian computational linguistics": presentations as part of a midterm evaluation

Presentations in connection with the midtterm evaluation of Uliana Petrunina (Department of Languages and Culture, UiT)

A-3019

10-11 Uliana Petrunina (PhD student, UiT) “Resolution of participle/adjective ambiguity in Russian using weighted transducer and constraint grammar rules”

14.15-15 Alexey Sorokin (Guest speaker, Lomonosov Moscow State University) “Computational morphology using neural networks”

“The speaker gives a survey of his research in computational linguistics, mostly in computational morphology, including automatic part-of-speech tagging, word inflection and morpheme segmentation. He plans to focus on ideas behind the algorithms used in the investigations. Special interest will be paid to multilingual and low-resource settings. Though most of the models considered are neural, the speaker addresses more their linguistic than computational aspects.”
