"Preventive Diplomacy, Conflicts & Mediation" - Open Lecture with Peter Wallensteen, Senior Professor in Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University

For this open lecture we are very proud to welcome Peter Wallensteen, Senior Professor, former Director and founder of the Department for Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University.

He has been the founder and director of the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP) for many years, held the Dag Hammarskjöld Professorship of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University (1985-2012) and has published extensively on issues related to conflict resolution, mediation, quality peace, peace agreements, sanctions and conflict prevention.

In 1990 he was called in as third party mediator in the armed conflict in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea and has previously led academic seminars between the warring parties in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.
