If you plan to collect data in a research project, it is a good practice to make a thorough plan in order to manage the data the best way possible at the different stages of the project. An increasing number of funders also require that a data management plan is a part of the project description. From the 1st of September 2017, this will also be required by UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
A data management plan usually contains information on existing data, documentation of data collection, structure of the data, metadata, how the data will be archived, and if and how they will be shared.
In this course, you learn how to make a good data management plan, and what is typically expected by the funders.
The University Library offers a variety of courses on research data this fall. For a complete overview, go here.
