On Digital Humanities and Technogenesis: Katherine Hayles at UIT

Prof. Katherine Hayles from Duke University visits UiT to give two guest lectures on Monday September 29, 2014.

10:15 - 11:45: Digital Humanities - Approaches, Perspectives, Challenges
13:15 - 14:45: Technogenesis - The Co-Evolution of Humans and Machines

In the first lecture, she takes up some of the challenges and opportunities posed by new digital technologies for theories and methods of the Humanities.
In the second lecture, she looks more closely into the concept of technogenesis; the co-evolution of humans and technology

The guest lectures are an initiative of the ENCODE-research platform (UiT) and are funded by the Dept. of Culture and Literature and the Centre for Peace Studies (UiT Tromsø).
