Italian day at UiT Arctic University of Norway

The idea of the project an “Italian Day in Tromsø”, fostered by the Italian Embassy in Oslo and the Arctic University, Tromsø, has been gradually taking shape following  initial reactions received by potentially interested companies and institutions. We thank all those who have shown concrete  interest in and support of  the initiative.

The project “Italian Day in Tromsø” (a one-day seminar in four sessions) is designed to highlight the Italian presence and contribution to the Norwegian “Arctic capital” and its region. The event will be co-organized by the Italian Embassy in Oslo and the University of Tromsø with the participation of representatives from the scientific (in a broad sense), business, diplomatic and political community as well as from media interested in the bilateral relations between Italy and Norway and in particular in the Arctic region.

The seminar to be held at the premises of the University and is intended as an opportunity for interested Italian and Norwegian players to be better acquainted and to exchange views and experiences also in view of trying to achieve new synergies.

Attendance is open to researchers, students, members of the business community and international organizations, other relevant bodies and agencies located in Tromsø.

The aim of the event is to illustrate, highlight and give an overall picture of the contribution made by Italian actors in Norway thanks to their professional competence, technologies and know-how in different areas, such as scientific research, business, law and regulations with a special focus on the Arctic, as well as the excellent on-going co-operation between Norwegian and Italian actors on Arctic issues.
