TROLLing launch

                                            Launch Date: June 18, 2014.

The Tromsø Repository of Language and Linguistics is designed as an archive of linguistic data and statistical code. Researchers are invited to post datasets and statistical models that result from linguistic research and analysis. All postings are accompanied by metadata that identify the researchers, the languages and linguistic phenomena involved, the statistical methods applied, and scholarly publications based on the data (where relevant). The metadata can be searched and the worldwide community of linguists can use TROLLing to promote the implementation of quantitative methods in linguistics. The university library at UiT oversees the technical and legal structure of TROLLing, and a Steering Committee makes further provisions for quality control. TROLLing is developed in coordination with CLARIN (Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure, a networked federation of European data repositories).

The TROLLing launch will include a meeting of the Steering Committee and local collaborators, plus a demonstration of TROLLing and a panel discussion with scholars on plans for continued development.
