Research Interests/Activities in the Winter project:

Even though commercial nature tourism products are perceived as low-risk activities in Finnish Lapland, risks are present in the everyday actions of guided nature tourism services. My research interests in the Winter -project relate especially to the contradictory ideals regarding adventure tourism and to the tacit knowledge and competences required from the guides. Together with master students from the University of Lapland we will conduct both qualitative and quantitative research to explore adventure tourism transformation in Lapland.
