Cooperation "Prosjekt ekstrem prematur"
"Prosjekt ekstrem prematuritet" is a national cooperation project with all the NICUs and the most of the maternity wards in Norway, and Medical Birth Register.
The aim is to increase knowledge on what determins the survival ability and later the deveoplment and funtionality to the extremly premature born child, and how the children and their families can be helped.
All children in Norway with a birtheweight below 1000 gram or with a gestational age at 22-27 weeks born in the periode 1.1.99- 31.12.2000 was target group for this study. The childrens development are followed up and are still followed through the childhood years.
