Crowdsourcing user information and integration of stakeholder decision-making

As part of the modelling and monitoring challenges to maritime safety in a Changing Arctic session during Arctic Frontiers 2023 last week, one of our SPRICE work package leaders, Dina Abdel-Fattah, updated on our SPRICE project work on crowdsourcing user information related to spray icing incidents, and importantly, how we integrate stakeholder decision-making into our research. 

It was exciting to present our user-centric and interdisciplinary research project at Arctic Frontiers this year and to see how the scientific community is increasingly moving towards this direction as well. Dina had the opportunity to also be part of an engaging panel discussion at the end of the session, and clearly there is appetite and the demand, for information producers and users to work more together on scientific information challenges.
