Tromsø Game Lab Kick-off

You are invited to the kick-off event for the Tromsø Game Lab, new initiative by the ENCODE and CRAFT research groups.

Tromsø has a rich history of games scholarship and games-based research. As an example, one of the best-regarded game studies journals, Eludamos: Journal for Computer Games Culture is hosted by the UiT. However, there is a lack of a common space for scholars studying (or interested in studying) games to come together.

The Tromsø Game Lab is an initiative to build this common space. All those who wish to learn about the state of games research in UiT are invited to join us in a seminar where we will present the state of games research so far, learn about the fellow scholars in the room and their interest in games, and plan what happens next with the Tromsø Game Lab. It is a chance to join the Lab and make it your own.

The event is open to all. Students and scholars studying games, as well as designers and developers of games. If you play games but aren't familiar with the academic field: feel free to join as well!

The Tromsø Game Lab is coordinated by Zoheb Mashiur (NFH). It is a joint iniative by the ENCODE (HSL/ISK) and CRAFT (NFH) research groups, and hosted by ENCODE.
