Søknadslunsjer på HSL: How to Get Closer to that Grant

Writing research grant applications is an important part of our role as researchers, yet low success rates can often feel discouraging. However, just as publications improve through discussion and feedback from peers, grant applications can benefit greatly from peer review.

By having our texts reviewed—and by reviewing colleagues’ work—we can help junior researchers develop their writing skills, share knowledge of different application formats, and learn how to master new funding templates.

This presentation introduces potential models for peer review and opens a discussion on how we can best support each other at HSL in developing stronger, more competitive grant applications.

About the speaker

Stine Willum Adrian is Deputy Head of Research and Professor of Sociology at the Department of Social Sciences at UiT. She is trained as a sociologist and holds a PhD in feminist science and technology studies (STS) and cultural analysis. Over the years, she has contributed to numerous funded research projects. Most recently, she served as Principal Investigator for Technologies of Death and Dying at the Beginning of Life, funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark.
