Why Study Online Aerospace Engineering at UiT?
The online Aerospace Engineering programme at UiT gives you the opportunity to earn a master's degree in aerospace engineering while maintaining flexibility in your professional and personal life. The programme is designed for students who wish to study remotely without relocating, while still becoming part of an active aerospace engineering environment.
The curriculum combines core engineering subjects with specialized topics such as satellite technology, autonomous systems, control engineering, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, and space technologies. Students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical engineering skills relevant to modern aerospace applications.

Flexible Learning with Limited Campus Attendance
The programme is delivered primarily online, allowing students to follow lectures, complete assignments, and participate in most learning activities remotely.
Many of the theoretical courses can be completed entirely online, while some courses may require physical attendance for laboratory activities or examinations. Whenever possible, these activities are organized into intensive periods to reduce travel requirements and provide greater flexibility for students balancing studies with work or other commitments.
UiT has extensive experience delivering online engineering education and continuously works to provide flexible learning opportunities while maintaining academic quality and practical relevance.

Learn Through Real Projects
Students apply their knowledge through project work linked to ongoing research and industry-relevant challenges. Areas include satellite systems, drones, autonomous technologies, and space applications.
Teaching is informed by UiT's involvement in national and international aerospace and space projects, giving students exposure to current technologies and real engineering challenges. Students may have opportunities to engage with topics such as spacecraft systems, guidance and control, embedded software, autonomous operations, and space sustainability.

Career Opportunities
Graduates are qualified for careers in:
  • Space and satellite industries
  • Aerospace and aviation technology
  • Drone and autonomous systems development
  • Control and automation engineering
  • Systems engineering and project management
  • Research and development organizations
  • Government agencies and space institutions
The degree also provides a strong foundation for doctoral studies and research careers within aerospace engineering, autonomous systems, robotics, and space technology.
